A method of recording and/or reproducing digital data on a rotary magnetic disc (2) under the condition that address data of the digital data are made non-consecutive relative to an original time sequence thereof by adding error correction bits to the digital data and re-arrangement of the digital data, includes providing a buffer memory (20) between the disc (2) and a peripheral device, the buffer memory (20) having a capacity capable of completing the re-arrangement of the digital data, allocating the digital data to the buffer memory (20) such that actual data and the error correction bits are respectively stored in different memory areas of said buffer memory (20), and converting address data upon writing or reading the digital data from the buffer memory (20) so as to allocate the address data such that the address data become non-consecutive as seen from a recorded pattern of the disc (2) and consecutive as seen from the peripheral device.

The invention relates to the accumulation of information, namely, devices for controlling the recording and reproduction of digital data on a magnetic disk.
The aim of the invention is to increase the recording density of digital data on a magnetic disk.
The drawing shows schematically the proposed device for controlling the recording and reproduction of digital data on a magnetic disk.
The device comprises a parallel-serial conversion unit 1 of the recorded data and a series-parallel conversion of the reproduced data, connected between the first selector 2 and the recording-reproduction amplifier 3 connected to the recording-reproducing magnetic head 4, the operational memory unit 5, the unit 6 data processing, the second selector 7 and the counter 8, connected to the input bus 9 clock pulses.
The device also contains an error correction coding unit 10 made with a parity data bus connected to a first selector 2 connected to the data bus of the data processing unit 6, a direct memory access controller 11 made with a serial data output, an address data converter 12 and an error correction decoding unit 13 performed on the parity data bus. The data output of the serial addresses of the controller 11 direct memory access is connected to the input of the data processing unit 6 and to the input of the second selector 7. The address data converter 12 is connected between the output of the counter 8 and the other input of the second selector 7. The main memory unit 5 is connected to the second the selector 7 and with the first selector 2 connected to the data bus the parity of the block P of the error correction decoding.

In accordance with the converted address data of the converter 12, the address data is digital data and. the parity data is read from the memory block 5 in the order of arrival of the recorded sequence on the magnetic disk, added to the parity data in the error correction coding unit 10, and is fed to the block 1 parallel conversion of the recorded data and serially parallel conversion of the reproduced data. Serial data is passed through the recording-reproduction amplifier 3 to the recording-reproduction magnetic head A, which is essentially recording to the magnetic disk.
After reading the digital data of the block from the main storage unit 5, the digital data of the next block is transferred from the processing unit 6 to the main storage unit 5 by the write request signal. Then the digital data of the block is supplemented with parity data and after the described operations are recorded on a magnetic disk. In a similar manner, digital data of other units are recorded on a magnetic disk.
In the playback mode, digital data from the magnetic recording head A is transmitted through the recording-playback amplifier 3 to a block 1 of parallel-serial conversion of the recorded data and a serial-parallel conversion of reproduced data, in which they are converted from ten-bit data to eight-bit, and serial data is converted to parallel data. The parallel data passes through the first selector 2 to the RAM block 5, in which recording takes place according to the address data corresponding to the write alternation.
After recording the digital data of one block in the main memory block 5 in accordance with the address data of the converter 12 address data, an error correction occurs.
